Historic Charlton Park
Admission to Charlton Park is FREE, unless there is a scheduled special event.
Parking is always FREE.
Administration and Education Office: Open year-round, call to schedule an appointment.
Historic Charlton Park closes daily at sunset.
- Individuals using boat launch must return to launch 30 minutes before sunset.
- Recreation Area gate may close due to poor road conditions.
- Recreation Area Closed for Father's Day Car Show.
Historic Village:
Open Labor Day through Memorial Day (September 1, 2025 - May 25, 2026)
- During weekdays - Open only for prescheduled groups (including guided tours) and special events.
- During paid events - Historic Village buildings open.
- During unpaid events - Majority of Historic Village buildings open.
- After Memorial Day - Portion of Historic Village buildings open, call ahead for full list.

Dogs are welcome at any time, but not inside of the buildings, unless they are service animals! Please keep them leashed (max length 6 ft.) and pick up after them. Please consult the event schedule before you decide to bring your pet - certain events are loud and may cause undue stress.

Bailey Nature Preserve
Bailey Nature Preserve is open sunrise to sunset.
The preserve is not accessible for traditional wheelchairs. If you would like to explore the preserve with Barry County Parks' all-terrain wheelchair, please fill out the reservation form ♿.
Dogs are welcome at any time. Please keep them leashed (max length 6 ft.) and pick up after them.

McKeown Bridge Park is open sunrise to sunset. Accessible to wheelchair users ♿.
Public kayak/canoe launch is not accessible.
