Give to the Bailey Nature Preserve Fund

Bailey Nature Preserve is a 160-acre forested parcel located in Assyria Township that surrounds 35-acre Metcalf Lake.

The lake and property were donated to the City of Battle Creek in 1998, and transferred to Barry County Parks in 2024. The Southwest Michigan Land Conservancy will hold a conservation easement on the property, while Barry County Parks will manage the property to preserve the area’s natural state for future generations.

This fund has been established to support the preserve’s reopening, and create a permanent endowment for the ongoing care and management of the Bailey Nature Preserve.
